Parking at the Chicago Campus

You have several options when your parking need is mainly in the evening hours in Chicago. If you expect to be attending classes less than twice per week, you may self-validate your parking ticket for a discounted rate that is currently $9.00 per evening. This rate applies to Saturday parking as well.  Rate is available for parking on weekdays from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (the same night) or weekends from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. You must park and exit within the specified time, overnight parking is not allowed at the discounted rate.  This is valid in either of two University garages: the 222 E. Huron Self-Park designated as "Lot A", or the 321 E. Erie parking structure, designated as "Lot C & D". One can park in either lot from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

How to obtain the validation:

  1. Park in the eligible garages and obtain a parking ticket.
  2. Self-validate the parking ticket in one of the Wieboldt Hall validation machines:
    • Fourth floor Student Lounge, Room 411
    • Fourth floor Computer Lab, Room 415
    • Fifth floor Student Lounge, Room 510
  3. Use your parking ticket and the chaser ticket at the pay station in the parking garage to receive the discounted rate.

 Other Parking Options:

There are several public parking garages in the area, as well as metered street parking. Detailed parking maps and information can be found using the following online directories:

Parking at the Evanston Campus

SPS students may park without a parking permit in most "F" Parking Lots on the Evanston campus, after 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and all weekend. Students should refer to the signs at the parking lot to be certain. Do not, at any time, park in a reserved space. Campus maps indicating appropriate parking lots are available at the School of Professional Studies office, 405 Church Street, Evanston, IL. SPS students who wish to park on campus before 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, should go to the Northwestern Parking Office to purchase a one-day parking permit.
