This program is intended for people with a graduate degree and some familiarity with medical or health informatics. Applicants wanting a more comprehensive course of study should consider the Master of Science in Health Informatics degree.

Health Informatics for Clinicians Course Options

To earn a certificate, students must complete the following four courses.

  • CIS 413 - Telecommunications and Computer Networks
  • CIS 417 - Database Systems Design and Implementation

and any two additional MHI courses.

In some cases, students who have completed equivalent coursework previously may be allowed to replace the required course with another course in the field.

Please note that courses completed in the certificate program cannot be transferred to the corresponding graduate degree.
